Water Testing

Microbial testing of water used in the washing, rinsing and processing of fresh fruit and vegetables is a requirement of HACCP based Quality Systems and as verification of Good Hygiene Practices. Testing of on-farm irrigation water is also a requirement under the Freshcare 3 Code of Practice (3rd Edition).

Additional water analysis tests for – acidity(pH), hardness, minerals, nutrients and other elements are also available.

Standard Test Types

  • WS1 – Coliforms
  • WS2 – E.coli and Thermotolerant coliforms

Additional Tests

  • WS3 – Listeria species
  • WS4 – Salmonella
  • WS5 – Heterotrophic plate count at two temperatures

Note: Other specific metal compounds can be tested upon request
